- We suggest bringing some cash along with at least two major credit cards from different networks. This way, you'll have a backup in case your card is not accepted or is lost.
- While most smartphones function well overseas, consider activating international roaming service before your trip to avoid unexpected charges.
- Many hotels and public places offer Wi-Fi, allowing you to stay connected during your travels. However, please keep in mind that Internet access may be limited in more remote areas.
- We kindly ask that you seek permission before taking photos of local people, especially children, to show respect for their privacy.
- U.S. passport holders are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA) for entry into Kenya. Please make sure to arrange this before your departure.
- A yellow fever vaccination is necessary only if you are arriving from or have transited through a yellow fever-endemic area in South America or Africa, including East African countries like Tanzania and Uganda.
- Kenya operates primarily on a cash-based economy, and cash transactions can be made in either U.S. dollars or the local currency.
- Please be aware that Kenya has banned plastic bags, including shopping bags, Ziploc bags, duty-free bags, and bubble wrap. We recommend not bringing these items to the airport, as they may be taken away.
